The project at a glance
ChallengeThe lack of transparency in communication repeatedly lead to gaps in the knowledge sharing between active stakeholders. Therefore, a uniform communications structure between customers and business partners had to be established. Among other things, the system should also contain information on delivery data and guarantee more transparency in all business processes. One key challenge to overcome was the lack of visibility of product availabilities.
Our solutionOne key objective, in parallel to establishing centralised IT services, was to establish a modern, EDI-based communications concept for EU-wide business processes, allowing members to access the data of a common database anywhere in Europe. compacer was tasked with developing, implementing and operating a fully integrated B2B business platform for the network of companies. In addition to the EDI component with its integrated supplier onboarding portal, the solution was to include an e-Invoicing platform. The e-Invoicing platform was to provide e-Billing, signed PDF, e-mail distribution and ZUGFeRD capabilities.

Our customeris a market community in the electrical wholesale trade and a network of companies that operates in 26 countries. In the meantime, more than 230 independently cooperating electrical wholesalers belong to the network. Almost every member is an independent family business. The aim is to strengthen the wholesalers and make them fit for future. That is why the network also focuses on a good cooperation with all manufacturers. This was a prime reason to set up and expand a centralised e-commerce platform.
