compacer strengthens commitment to the logistics sector: Joining the Open Logistics Foundation
compacer is sending a clear signal in support of the digitalisation of logistics: by joining the Open Logistics Foundation, the company is stepping up its commitment to establishing open industry standards.
Gärtringen, June 23, 2026 – compacer GmbH is further expanding its position as a digitalization partner for the logistics industry and, as of this month, has become a member of the Open Logistics Foundation. The non-profit organization provides a neutral platform for the collaborative development of open-source solutions and promotes the establishment of open standards along the entire logistics value chain.
“At compacer, we are convinced that the future of logistics lies in open, connected ecosystems. By joining the Open Logistics Foundation, we aim to contribute our expertise in data integration and process automation in a targeted manner to help shape open standards and drive forward the digital transformation of the logistics industry,” explains Volker Hettich, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) at compacer. For compacer, this step represents the consistent expansion of its commitment to supporting companies in becoming more resilient and efficient.
compacer’s particular strength lies in the intelligent networking of data, systems, and processes – especially in logistics and port infrastructure, where a wide variety of stakeholders and IT systems must work together seamlessly. With the integration platform edbic, data is standardized and consolidated, processes are orchestrated, and highly automated workflows along the entire supply chain are enabled. A practical example is Antwerp Euroterminal: by implementing edbic, compacer was able to significantly strengthen the IT sovereignty of the site – a key competitive factor for modern port and logistics hubs.
To meet the diverse requirements of the industry, compacer pursues a holistic approach with four central fields of action: the integration of system landscapes, the digitalization and automation of business processes, the modernization of existing infrastructures through retrofit concepts, and solutions for sustainable energy management. The portfolio is complemented by extensive experience in just-in-time optimization, which plays a key role particularly in port and transport logistics. With its commitment to the Open Logistics Foundation, compacer is strengthening its role as a technology partner and positioning itself as a co-creator of an open and collaborative logistics ecosystem.
Since 2025, compacer has been actively involved in the TIC 4.0 Terminal Industry Committee, an international initiative for the standardization and digitalization of terminal processes, contributing its expertise. An important building block is the long-standing partnership with HPC Hamburg Port Consulting, with which compacer has successfully implemented international port and terminal projects. In addition, the company is expanding its network through the new partnership with akquinet port consulting GmbH in order to drive forward innovative IT and integration solutions for complex logistics processes.
